NCH physicians named 2018 ‘Top Docs’

Eight Northwest Community Healthcare (NCH) physicians have been named to Chicago magazine’s 2018 Top Docs List, a roundup of 591 doctors representing 48 specialties.

Those who made the list are endorsed by their peers as the best in the six-county metropolitan area. Our NCH Medical Group doctors on the list include:

• John R. Onufer, M.D., Cardiac Electrophysiology – atrial fibrillation; catheter oblation; pacemakers and defibrillators
• John T. Fox, M.D., Internal Medicine
• Noreen Galanter, M.D., Internal Medicine
• Michelle Seo, M.D., Internal Medicine
• S. Diane Yamada, M.D., Obstetrics and Gynecology

In addition, Theodore Homa, M.D., Geriatric Medicine, NCH Medical Staff; Michael Mangurten, M.D., Internal Medicine, NCH Medical Staff; and Charles Slavik, M.D., Children, NCH Medical Staff, made the list.

Doctors cannot pay to appear on the Top Docs List or nominate themselves, according to the chicagomag.com website. The list was compiled by Castle Connolly Medical, a healthcare research and information company in New York City. William Liss-Levinson, CCM’s chief strategy and operations officer believes “physicians are the best judges of other physicians’ clinical excellence,” the website stated.

The list appears in the January 2018 issue of Chicago magazine.
