Northwest Community Healthcare (NCH) and Weil Regenerative Surgery Center have launched a joint venture, operating together at the 1455 E. Golf Road in Des Plaines. NCH purchased 51 percent of the Weil Regenerative Surgery Center and will operate the Northwest Community Foot and Ankle Center on the west end of the building. The Weil practice, established in 1965 by Dr. Lowell Scott Weil Sr., will continue to operate podiatric care in the building, providing treatment for conditions such as:
“NCH is dedicated to improving patient care and through partnerships like this one with the Weil Foot & Ankle Institute, we’ll be able to expand our surgical procedure offerings for our patient base,” Steve Scogna, President and CEO at NCH, says.
The center is home to a variety of outpatient corrective, cosmetic and sports-related surgical procedures, including minimally invasive bunion correction, arthroscopic procedures, advanced procedures for correction of arthritis and tendon disorders, bone marrow aspiration and injection of stem cells, to name a few.
The joint venture will not impact services at other Weil Foot & Ankle Institute locations in Chicago, Glenview, Highland Park, Lake Forest, Libertyville, Oak Lawn, Oak Park, Roselle, Tinley Park, Lemont and Flossmoor.
Weil Foot & Ankle Institute CEO Dr. Lowell Weil Jr. says that after more than 25 years of owning a surgery center, his organization felt that a hospital partner would put it in the best position in the midst of an ever changing healthcare landscape.
“Northwest Community has distinguished itself in the area of patient care in the Northwest Suburbs beyond any other hospital system,” Dr. Weil Jr. says. “It takes patient care seriously and has a tremendous partnership with the communities it serves.”
Doctors at the Des Plaines location include:
In addition to news of the joint venture, the center recently received approval from the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The center also accepts other forms of insurance.
