Arlington Resources’ CureSade Walk/Run raises more than $11,700 for Cancer Patient Assistance Fund

Last Friday, Patricia Casey and Eileen Renk of Arlington Resources presented Dave Ungurean, Executive Director, Northwest Community Hospital Foundation, Rhea Trbojevic, RN, M.S., Executive Director of Cancer Services, and Kim Jensen, LCSW, OSW-C, Oncology Social Worker, with a check for more than $11,700 for NCH’s Cancer Patient Assistance Fund. The money was raised last month through Arlington Resources’ CureSade 5K Walk/Run. Since the first CureSade race was held in 2011, nearly $68,000 has been raised for NCH patients who face severe financial hardship or cannot work because of cancer treatment.

Patricia, owner of Arlington Resources, a staffing firm for the accounting and finance industry, said the fundraiser was started in honor of an employee who fought cancer as a means to give back to the community and aid local residents diagnosed with the disease.

“The idea behind the grant was to enable patients to focus on cancer treatment without the worry of bills and financial stress,” added Kim.

“We use grassroots to get the word out about the importance of helping out those impacted by cancer,” added Eileen, who has organized the race for six years.

Dave thanked Patricia, Eileen and the entire Arlington Resources’ team for their generosity and dedication. “Thank you for all that you and your colleagues do to support NCH and, most importantly, cancer patients we serve who find themselves in dire financial circumstances,” said Dave. “Arlington Resources stands as a phenomenal example for other companies to emulate.”
