Nurses are vital members of our multidisciplinary teams of healthcare professionals, helping to set new standards in patient care through prevention, early detection and treatment of complex diseases. Our nurses provide both clinical expertise and emotional support to patients and their families before, during and after treatment.

Our unique nursing structure enables personal and professional growth by providing many opportunities for our nursing staff to excel—from improving patient safety and conducting research projects to becoming an advanced practice nurse in an area of clinical interest.

As an NCH Nurse You’ll Find:

Transparency in quality care reporting. We were the first hospital in the region to show consumers how we compare to state and national benchmarks. You can see our current grades in the following locations: Illinois Hospital Report Card, The Joint Commission and Hospital Compare.
Advanced medical technology. We were an early adopter of new technologies that improve medical outcomes and the patient experience, with the Halcyon™ radiation therapy delivery system, NICO BrainPath^® technology and VITOM^® 3D exoscopic visualization, Ga 68-DOTATATE PET/CT technology, CyberKnife^® Stereotactic Radiosurgery System (SRS), the da Vinci^® Surgical System and more.
Serious illness and injury care. As a state-designated trauma center, the Emergency Department is the busiest in the northwest suburbs and the Critical Care Unit is the only one in the area staffed around the clock with board-certified intensivists.
Important partnerships. We have 24-hour, onsite access to neonatologists and pediatric specialists from Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.

About Our Chief Nursing Officer

Jeanne Laraia, MSN, RN, NE-BC

Vice President of Operations and Chief Nursing Officer
Northwest Community Hospital

Jeanne Laraia, MSN, RN, NE-BC, is the Chief Nursing Officer and VP of Operations at Endeavor Health, where she leads the nursing organization and oversees clinical operations for Northwest Community Hospital. In this role, Jeanne collaborates with system and regional leaders to ensure alignment with strategic and operational objectives, managing patient care services, ancillary services, hospital-based ambulatory services, and joint ventures. She also plays a key role in the planning and growth of clinical programs.

With over 35 years of nursing experience and more than 15 years in nursing leadership, Jeanne brings a wealth of expertise to her role. Jeanne holds a master’s degree in nursing from Benedictine University and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Northern Illinois University.
