Receiving a COVID-19 vaccine after you recover from COVID-19 infection provides added protection and prevention against COVID-19 illness.
People who are moderately or severely immuno-compromised have different recommendations for COVID-19 vaccines, including boosters.

For those over the age of 11:
People ages 12 and older: NCH is currently accepting new Omicron booster appointments. Appointments can be made through MyChart or by calling 847-618-0242.
People ages 12 years and older can only receive the updated Omicron (bivalent) booster; the original (monovalent) mRNA booster is no longer available for these individuals.
CDC recommends everyone stay up to date with their COVID-19 vaccination, including all primary series doses and boosters for their age group:
For those under the age of 12:
For children ages 5 to 11: NCH continues to accept appointments for original monovalent boosters.
Children ages 5 to 11 years should receive all primary series doses and updated COVID-19 boosters, if eligible.
Children ages 6 months to 4 years are strongly recommended to receive all 3 doses of the COVID-19 primary series. NCH is offering Pfizer at this time.
A parent or legal guardian must accompany anyone under 18 years of age.
