NCH is part of Endeavor Health

One of the few bright outcomes of the COVID-19 pandemic has been the outpouring of support from members of our community. If you ask any frontline staff member at NCH, you would probably hear they don’t feel like a super hero, they are just doing their jobs. However, we know those folks with direct COVID-19 patient care are putting their own health and their family’s health on the line to do their job every day.
The NCH community has embraced us wholeheartedly – from children’s drawings of encouragement, to supportive yard signs, to wrapping neighborhood trees in NCH green ribbons, to working with local businesses to donate meals for frontline employees, to making and donating homemade masks and medical quality PPE.
On our side, it takes a village to process the vast generosity coming into NCH. For example, three employees who joined our “labor pool” to help where needed, formed a team with Human Resources Director Lotus Buckner to work on finding ways to solicit and receive donations for all the supplies we were lacking. Cyndy Treanor from Cardiac Rehab, Kim Mangini from the Day Surgery Center and Mike Radke from Radiology (CT) have worked beyond the call of duty to help fulfill our needs and be fiscally responsible in the process. To give a picture of the generosity, this mighty team was able to obtain 80,000 surgical masks from the restaurant chain Panda Express as well as Panda meals from one of its local restaurants for all on shift!
Now we need your help again. We published a full page public thank you in the Daily Herald and are noting here complete lists of business and community organizations that have donated PPE and meals to NCH. To help show our gratitude, we encourage you to patronize these area businesses to thank them for their support.
Another incredible example of how we are getting through this together!
