Northwest Community Healthcare specialists chosen as ‘Top Docs’

Best in the area for treating female issues

The June/July issue of Chicago magazine features five physicians affiliated with Northwest Community Healthcare (NCH) in its “Top Doctors for Women” list.

The Top Doctors are:

NCH Medical Group Gynecologic Oncologist S. Diane Yamada, M.D.

Hematologist/Oncologist Gary Grad, M.D.

OB/GYN Timothy Albion, M.D.

OB/GYN Elyse Erlich, M.D.

Radiation Oncologist Stephen S. Nigh, M.D.

The list is a compilation of 212 specialists chosen by their peers as the best in the area for treating female-focused issues. Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., a health care research and information company, publishes the list to help guide consumers toward top doctors and hospitals.

“We’re proud that these physicians have been recognized not only by other staff here at NCH, but by the larger medical community for their excellence in caring for patients,” President and CEO Steve Scogna says. 

Doctors cannot pay to appear in the “Top Docs” list or nominate themselves, according to the chicagomag.com website, which states that “physicians are the best judges of others physicians’ clinical excellence.”
