Our hospital is one of approximately 100 in the nation to be certified as a Comprehensive Stroke Center by The Joint Commission. This recognizes our highly specialized stroke care, including advanced imaging capabilities and 24/7 availability of specialized treatments. Through our partnership with NorthShore University HealthSystem, we bring our nationally recognized stroke team to the community, including:
- Emergency Department physicians who initiate an emergent stroke treatment pathway by immediately connecting patients with NorthShore endovascular specialists via their Telestroke program, a secure internet conferencing service
- Actively enrolling patients in several national research studies on stroke and neurological disease
- Focused, intensive rehabilitation therapy that’s available in our state-of-the-art rehabilitation unit within our hospital
- A specialized outpatient Day Rehabilitation Program that treats individuals recovering from stroke, brain injury or other neurological conditions
