The percent of heart attack patients who received Aspirin within 24 hours before or 24 hours after their arrival at the hospital. Aspirin is primarily a pain reliever. Aspirin also reduces the tendency of blood to clot by blocking the action of a type of blood cell involved in clotting. Aspirin reduces the risk of having a heart attack and improves the chances of surviving a heart attack.
