At Northwest Community Hospital, our highly trained and licensed staff of physical therapists and licensed physical therapist assistants design individual physical medicine programs to treat problems with standing, walking, range of motion, balance, coordination, strength and endurance. These include:

• Post-surgical conditions, including joint replacements
• Acute and chronic back and neck pain
• Sports and performance injuries

• Women’s health and pregnancy issues

Specialized physical therapy programs

• Aquatic therapy uses a warm water therapy pool to enhance recovery and improve some patients' tolerance for activities that might be difficult to achieve on land.
• Women's and men's pelvic floor therapy incorporates an exercise-based physical medicine program that includes posture and body mechanics, behavior modification, biofeedback, electrical stimulation, relaxation techniques and muscle strengthening. It is designed to help overcome urinary incontinence and pelvic pain that can affect both men and women.
• Vestibular rehabilitation uses specific exercises to treat dizziness and loss of balance associated with inner ear problems, neck injuries, aging and other medical conditions.
