In early 2012, NCH became one of only three hospitals in Illinois to offer MAKOplasty®, a minimally invasive partial knee resurfacing procedure that uses robotic arm technology to deliver precise resurfacing of the arthritic portion of the knee. The procedure is so accurate that it provides optimal implant positioning and alignment, preserves healthy knee tissue and bone, and returns you back to daily activities within two to three weeks following surgery. Expanded orthopedic patient care unit

Our orthopedic services department has expanded to cover the entire eighth floor of the South Pavilion. Here, our team of expert orthopedic surgeons, Magnet®-awarded nurses and specially trained therapists provide the best in personalized orthopedic care.

• All private rooms for orthopedic patients are specially designed with comfort and quick recovery in mind.
