Determining Your Level of Care Needs

The philosophy behind NCH's Levels of Care is to provide you and your family the right type of medical treatment in the right place so you can start feeling better quickly. NCH's four walk-in treatment options are staffed by NCH clinical specialists and/or physicians who are readily available when it matters most. From sunburns and cold/flu symptoms to minor health issues and serious medical conditions, you will find four accessible care options designed to match your specific urgent care needs.

Each of NCH's four Levels of Care are uniquely staffed and equipped to treat various kinds of medical conditions, illnesses or injuries. Basic care begins with the affordable Level 1 FastCare clinic and progresses toward the Level 4 Emergency Room for the most serious medical conditions.

Level 1 - $

NCH FastCare provides convenient access to basic care and treatment for children and adults who don't have chronic health issues or serious illnesses. If all you need is a quick visit with a licensed nurse practitioner who can prescribe medications and conduct basic exams and lab tests, then FastCare is right for you. NCH Medical Group

Level 2 - $$

Primary care physicians at some NCH Medical Group offices offer "Easy Access" walk-in treatment for anyone 14 years of age or older. Individuals with chronic conditions, on certain medications, or with complex medical histories have a greater need for physician care, even for treatment of minor issues. Click here to learn more.

Immediate Care

Level 3 - $$$

When your primary care physician is unavailable, NCH Immediate Care Centers provide walk-in care from minor up to non-life threatening conditions. Click here for locations and information about the services provided at NCH's four Immediate Care Centers.

Emergency Room

Level 4 - $$$$

The Emergency Room is intended for patients who have the most severe, live-threatening conditions that require "911" emergency care. Since patients who come to the ER with these serious conditions will be seen first, those with minor illnesses or injuries may experience a long wait time. For your convenience and lower cost, Levels 1 3 may be better for walk-in care of minor health issues. Learn more about our Emergency Room and Pediatric Emergency Room.

If you are (or think you might be) experiencing a life-threatening emergency, call 911 for immediate assistance.
