Northwest Community Hospital is a Level II Trauma Center. A trauma center is a hospital equipped to provide comprehensive emergency medical services to patients suffering traumatic injuries. It provides 24-hour availability of all essential specialties and personnel and equipment, such as surgical specialists.

How We're Here for You

As a state-of-the-art Level II Trauma Center, NCH's Emergency Room treats more patients than any other hospital in the northwest suburbs – with more than 74,000 visits in 2010 – experience that makes a real difference in a life-threatening emergency. Because every minute counts when it comes to heart attack and stroke, our dedicated chest pain and neurointerventional teams are ready to treat patients with advanced technologies 24/7. NCH’s pediatric emergency care provides on-site access to board certified pediatric emergency doctors from Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago.

Even in an emergency, your comfort and privacy are important to us. That's why when our expanded Emergency Room opens later this year, it will include private rooms as well as speciality rooms for trauma, critical care, isolation and behavioral health, enabling us to serve more community members than ever before.
