If you have been affected by someone else's drinking, there is help. Al-Anon Family Groups is a fellowship of relatives and friends of alcoholics who share their experience, strength and hope in order to solve their common problems. Al-Anon believes that alcoholism is a family disease and that changed attitudes can aid recovery, whether the alcoholic is still drinking or not. Al-Anon holds an open meeting, with an Al-Anon and an AA speaker, every Sunday at 7:30 pm in Rooms 1-6 and 1-7 of Northwest Community Hospital. Alateen is part of Al-Anon Family Groups. Alateen is a support group for teenagers who have a family member or friend with a drinking problem. Families Anon is a support group for family and friends of alcoholics and substance abusers, whether they are still drinking/using or not. Those who are affected by the alcoholic/substance abuser meet to share with each other their experiences, strength and most importantly, hope. The meetings are held on the third floor of 901 W.
