This year marks a milestone in the history of our hospital as we celebrate our 50th anniversary. Northwest Community opened its doors on Dec. 2, 1959, marking a culmination of a major community effort. Visionary civic and business leaders insisted on the need for quality, community-focused healthcare right in their own neighborhood. We have been true to our mission ever since, growing to become a world-class medical facility.

Efforts to improve our service to the community never end, with our latest endeavor rising on the south end of our Arlington Heights campus. Our eight-story Patient Care Addition along Central Road will feature 200 private patient rooms, an expanded Emergency Department, new Critical Care Unit, spacious labor and delivery rooms, and many other advances in healthcare. It opens in May 2010.
